Lessons Learned from ISP-46 using RELAP/SCDAPSIM

Seven organizations from six countries used the detailed systems thermal-hydraulic and severe accident code, RELAP/SCDAPSIM/MOD3.2, to participate in the Phebus International Standard Problem exercise (ISP-46). ISP-46 was based upon the FPT-1 bundle heating and melting experiment performed in the PHEBUS facility, Cadarache, France. This paper will discuss the lessons learned from the ISP exercise including (a) the effects of user experience and training and (b) the influence of facility nodalization and uncertainties in experimental conditions and modeling parameters and (c) some of the problems experienced by the novice users.
