A Top-Down Model Incorporating Bottom-Up Technological Information for Feed-in Tariff Policy Analysis

Impacts of feed-in tariff (FIT) on the economy are examined by using a general equilibrium model which incorporates discrete electricity technology detail. Introducing an additional iterative scheme for the FIT calculation, this study elucidates how a combination of tariff rates and electricity production efficiencies influences the renewable energy installations, electricity price, job creation and welfare of the economy. The analytical results demonstrates to adequately explain merits and demerits which existing FIT programs have brought out in the light of recent empirical studies around the world.
