The fluid content in porous media can cause the anomalous dispersions and contribute to the frequency-dependent reflections at low seismic frequencies. We present a practical methodology which can simulate the frequency-dependent effects related to the fluid mobility in poroelastic media on the gathers. We first obtain the frequency-dependent elastic tensors that are associated with the porous fluid characteristics in permeable saturated rocks. Then the frequency-dependent reflection coefficients and velocity are used to synthesize seismic gathers by employing a diffusive-viscous equation, which take into account the diffusive and viscous attenuation due to the porous fluid flow. The methodology provides a fast modeling approach to better understand the frequency-dependent AVO response related to the wave-induced fluid flow.
