摘要

Lipo-chitinoligosaccharides (LCOs) are signal molecules involved in the symbiotic association of micro-organisms with plants. Rhizobial symbiosis triggers the formation of roots nodules in leguminous in which the atmospheric nitrogen is transformed into ammonia. Similarly, mycorhizal symbiosis contributes to improve the nutritional intakes of minerals and water for 80% of plants species. LCOs are composed of a chitinoligosaccharide backbone of 4 or 5 units, N-acylated at the non-reducing end . LCOs are active at nanomolar concentrations, and represent then an economically attractive and powerful fertilizer considering the increasing needs in food supply. They are an excellent alternative to develop a more sustainable agriculture considering the dramatic environmental problems associated with intensive cultures.
