THE NEW CONCEPT OF ADDITION OF MILK OF LIME WITHOUT JUICE DEFECATOR

From a long time Lime is being used as purifying agent for the cane juice. Purification of Juice is one of the important stages, where lime and its dosing plays an important role for clarify the cane juice for making a good quality of sugar. Triveni Engg. & Industries Ltd. Unit: Sabitgarh has taken initiative to design and install a system for on line M.O.L. dosing arrangement. This system of dosing was found to be very satisfactory and has given encouraging results. This arrangement has many technical and financial advantages. The result of on line dosing of MOL is far better than adding MOL in Juice defecator. The quality of clear juice is very good; having low turbidity and low CaO content in the clear juice. As no juice is passing from defecator, resulting zero retention time of juice in juice defecator and less loss of sugar with good quality of defecated clear juice. In this process the MOL solution is being added on line i.e. just before the pumping of second stage of heating and got much better defecated Clear juice comparatively. Since one equipment deleted completely resulting capital cost, manpower cost, operating and maintenance cost deleted with better clarification of juice. Due to low CaO content scaling is less in Evaporator bodies and viscosity etc also reduced. By adopting the on line MOL dosing arrangement we managed to reduce directly Manpower, Steam consumption, Capital cost with better Clarification of juice.
