Case Report: The Influence of a Multi-sided Concave Liner on Teat End Condition and Milking Performance in a High-intensity Dairy

Milking cows in a high-intensity dairy operation can have a big impact on teat end condition if not managed optimally, with the known negative effect on udder health (Neijenhuis et al., 2001). As the milking liner is the only part of the milking equipment that comes into direct contact with the teat, liner choice should be a top priority. Together with the milking installation settings and the milking routine, the liner will be one of the major influencers of teat end health and milking performance (Mein et al., 2004).
