Special health checkups and web-based home healthcare

We investigated the effectiveness of a web-based healthcare system that measured blood pressure, body weight, and number of steps walked. After receiving a special or regular checkup, participants were examined by the web-based system. A total of 223 participants initiated contact with the system, but only 26 monitored their blood pressure on more than 63 days during a 3-month period. Moreover, only 46 and 79 had their body weight and walking, respectively, measured during this period. Although special health checkups are important for the prevention of diseases, they are not sufficient for all purposes. However, the system of continuously monitoring healthcare did not work well. Indeed, a simpler and easier method is required for web-based healthcare systems.
