The contamination of water with various pollutants (organic and inorganic) is a major problem to human health and the environment. Human activities contribute significantly to water pollution. Pesticides are among the most undesirable organic compounds found in water today. Researchers are continuously investigating new methods to remove these recalcitrant micro-pollutants from water. The use of cyclodextrin (CD) polymers is one of the methods that are being explored. The potential of CD monomers to encapsulate organic compounds for various objectives such as the complex formation of permethylated P-CD with the garlic derived antithrombotics (E)- and (Z)-ajoene have been studied.[1]
