Anisotropic Sm-Fe-N bonded magnet made by injection-mold

The sheet magnets with N and S poles alternately magnetized using anisotropic Sm-Fe-N bonded magnet were made by injection-mold. Alignment was done by injecting the molten compound in a mold under alignment field raised by sintered NdFeB magnet. To examine the alignment influence, we evaluated alignment direction and alignment ratio of specimens in detail using VSM. The samples of N-N pitches wider than 8mm and thicker than 2 mm were aligned well. On the other hand, at the narrower N-N pitch and thinner sample, alignment and flux density were low. Based on these result, we made the new item of Sm-Fe-N bonded magnet at better condition of N-N pitch and thickness. Inner 12-poles ring magnet (Φ19-Φ17-3.5) which has 8.9 mm N-N pitche and 1 mm thickness was made. Flux density of this ring magnet was 220 mT.
