In recent years, the Heusler alloys have attracted much attention as promising materials in many fields, such as functional materials, thermoelectrics, superconductors, magnetic materials etc. Recently is reported a combinatorial study of Heusler alloys with the general chemical formula X_2YZ where the existence of two stable new tetragonal phases Fe_2CuGa and Fe_2NiSn were predicted. The attempt to synthesize the new phase is reported in this work. Fe_(2-x)MnxNiSn and Fe_2CuGa (x = 0, 1, 2) alloys were prepared by arc-melting and annealed at different temperatures in the region 873-1373K. Magnetic and XRD measurements were carried out. A new Heusler Fe_2CuGa phase was detected with very high magnetic moment of 171.4 Am~2/Kg.
