Management Practices Associated with Acquisition of New Staphylococcus aureus Intra-Mammary Infections

Staphylococcus aureus infra-mammary infections (IMI) are still often found on Canadian dairies. The chronic nature of these IMI and their resistance to usual antibiotic treatments are well documented. In order to reduce the herd IMI prevalence, adopting management practices that can prevent acquisition of infection is therefore essential. The objective of this study was to estimate the effects of modifiable management practices on the incidence of staphylococcus aureus EMI, taking into considerationother farm conditions and practices.
