The Preparation and Purification of Prion Protein N-terminal Domain with Fluctuations in the Number of Octapeptide Repeat

摘要

The prion protein has a typical repeat structure in the N-terminal domain, in which octapeptide GQPHGGGW is connected 4 times in tandem. In the present study, we attempted to prepare a series of proteins with fluctuations in the number of octapeptide repeat to analyze the structural characteristics in prion diseases. It was found that the high absorptive activity became prominent with increase in the number of octapeptide repeat.
