What is Power? Perspectives from sociology, multi-agents systems and network analysis

Although power is a core and well debated concept in sociology and political sciences, its definitions remain fuzzy and partial in both the fields of multi agents systems (MAS) and social network analysis (SNA). Power on, power of, influence, coercion, centrality: What is power? We propose a complex perspective on power principally based on the French sociology: the strategic analysis. We argue that power has a transactional nature based on the action triptych: to give, to receive, to concede, and expose some limits and extents about the use of power in sociological, MAS, and SNA organizational analysis.
