Research on the necessity of setting up comprehensive curriculum in physical education colleges from the perspective of new curriculum reform

@@ Introduction: To promote quality education and cultivate talented people, China commenced another round of the New Curriculum Reform in September of 2001, during which several aspects of courses had been adjusted, such as objective, content, structure, implementation, management and evaluation, among which the basic principal of adjustment in the course structure lies in seeking balance, comprehensiveness and options. Specifically, the comprehensiveness of the course structure aims to address the following problems: there has been too much emphasis on the orientation of the subject and also too specified division of subjects. Moreover, the lack of coherence among different subjects often hinders students' understanding of knowledge in a general sense.
