We are currently exploring this extensive dataset to elucidate the distinctive cellular processes which are affected by these nutritional regimes. Glycolysis, gluconeogenesis and TCA cycle/oxidative phosphorylation pathways showed the expected patterns of protein profiles. Interestingly, the cytosolic ribosomal protein complement is elevated in glucose-grown cells as an indication of higher fitness for yeast cells to fermentation. Consistent with this notion, pathways of stress response are elevated under respiring conditions (Heat Shock Proteins, Ubiquitin mediated Response). The dataset will become available shortly, with the publication of the manuscript.
