APGC ionisation, using both the Xevo G2 Q-Tof and the new Xevo TQD instrument, can be used to specifically identify tBDMSIM scFA derivatives. Preliminary analysis on the Xevo G2 Q-Tof allowed optimisation of the methodology in addition to cone and collision energy investigations. Targeted analysis using the Xevo TQD identified specific changes in scFA response to C. difficile infection.
