Targeted analysis was introduced for the quantitation of milk gangliosides GM3 and GD3. 1. Previous untargeted analysis has shown that the major gangliosides in milk are GM3 and GD3, which are composed of heterogeneous lipid portions. 2. For high-throughput analysis, an UHPLC separation achieved a short running time without sacrificing chromatographic resolution. 3. dMRM tables for the gangliosides were constructed for GM3 and GD3 within each ceramide subspecies.
