摘要

Sulfadimethoxine, a known persistent, environmental contaminant compound was subjected to a forced degradation treatment that approximated the chlorination procedure used by municipal waste and drinking water treatment plants. Using AB SCIEX LightSight~(~R) software to examine the data generated by data dependent MS/MS data, we were able to identify a chlorinated degradant of sulfadimethoxine. The workflow displayed here has proven to be a useful approach for the characterization of the byproducts of the water chlorination disinfection process.
