In this study, we developed MRM experiments to quantify the acetylated Htt Lys-178 levels in wild type and mutant huntingtin. We found a 7.71 fold change when comparing Htt23Q to Htt148Q. These results suggest polyglutamine expansion in Htt cause deaceylation of the protein and this may correlate with toxicity.
