摘要

Metabolic differences were observed between the root, seed, and leaf organs of Zea mays under native experimental conditions. Accurate mass analysis in combination with tandem mass spectrometry data enabled the tentative assignments of some detected ions to particular metabolites. Spatial profiling of the root tip is under way with a sharpened fiber to obtain the metabolic fingerprint of meristematic cells.
