Refining the questionThe most important question that should be addressed is: Do exogenous corticosteroids cause laminitis?Secondarily, we can then consider: Is it possible to screen for laminitis risk?Strategy for searching for evidenceThe following databases were searched: CAB abstracts and Medline (Keyword search terms used: equine, laminitis, horse, corticosteroids, triamcinolone, prednisolone, methylprednisolone, dexamethasone). In addition, the references from the articles obtained by the methods were checked for additional relevant material.
