Digital amputations that are unsalvageable due to various reasons can be given a good aesthetic and functional outcome using the bone graft from the amputated part and groin flap.In a series of seven cases over a period of eighteen months digits were reconstructed arthrodesing the distal phalanx of the discarded part to the exposed bone and covering it with groin flap. The flaps were divided appropriately and modified after a few weeks to give shape to the digit over a period of 3 months. One year follow up revealed that one of the reconstructions failed while the rest six had an acceptable range of motion as they were able to perform activities of daily living using the reconstructed digit as a part of routine usage. Aesthetically, also the digits were comparable in length and shape to the neighbouring normal digits but did not have a nail /nail plate.
