Cochlear implantation post-labyrinthectomy has rarely been described in the literature. This is a retrospective case report that aims at describing an unusual case of successful cochlear implantation post-labyrinthectomy in a patient with bilateral Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH) of the temporal bone. The study involved a 45 year old Caucasian female with bilateral LCH of the temporal bone who subsequently developed severe bilateral sensorineural hearing loss, then successfully underwent cochlear implantation post-labyrinthectomy. Follow up HINT scores progressively improved over the course of 11 months. This case study is supportive evidence that a labyrinthectomy is not a contraindication to cochlear implantation.
