A symposium of general interest to the membership but also with considerable relevance to the future of the HFESA and its involvement in IEA. A panel consisting of all members of the Professional Affairs Board and others will lead a discussion in their particular area of interest on the following topics: 1. Why I became a CPE and what's in it for me? 2. More generally, why should any member aspire to CPE status? 3. Why do some people choose not to apply for CPE status? 4. Certification requirements and how to apply. 5. CPEs and Society involvement - why and how should CPEs be involved. 6. Mentoring as a major CPE obligation. Why and how. 7. Recertification/confirmation of status - the new HFESA system in accordance with IEA accreditation criteria. 8. Comparisons between HFESA and IEA certifications and recertification requirements, criteria and procedures.
