摘要

Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a common tumor in cat and the peak incidence ranges between 9 and 14 years. Feline SCC most commonly occurs in the head, abdomen, limbs, perineum and digits. Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 (Stat3) can be overexpressed in human malignant tumors and some reports observed an overexpression in sporadic feline mammary tumor and fibrosarcoma. The main form of activated Stat3 is due to its phosphorylation in tyrosine-705. The aims of the present study were to investigate Stat3 and Stat3-tyr-705 expression in feline SCC.
