A FIELD STUDY ON THE EFFICACY OF INGELVAC~R HP-1 AGAINST GLASSER'SDISEASE IN CHINA

Glasser's disease, caused by Haemophilus parasuis(Hps), is characterized by fibrinous polyserositis, polyarthritis and meningitis (1); acute Hps pneumonia, without polyserositis, has also been reported (2). Hps has recently emerged as one of the majorcauses of nursery mortality in swine herds in China. Effective prevention of Hps infections can be achieved by the use of commercial vaccines (3,4). The objective of this field trial was to check the efficacy ofthe killed vaccine Ingclvac~RHP-l against Glasser's disease in nursery pigs under field conditions.
