摘要

Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) has been recognized as the essential infectious agent of postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) (1). Under field conditions, only a small percentage of piglets become PMWS-affected and a genetic predisposition to this disease has been pointed out (2). The understanding of the transcriptional response of livestock to infections has been of increasing interest during the last decade. Up to date, however, little is known about the molecular basis of the genetic susceptibility/resistance to PMWS in pigs. The objective of the present work was to characterise differences at the gene expression level, by means of microarray technology, at five different time-points in Landrace piglets experimentally infected withPCV2.
