This article puts forward three points on the interaction between energy transformation and geo-politics. Point one: promoted by and during the energy transformation, organizational innovation will accompany technology innovation to transform business models and become a more important means than scale economy for oil companies to win the competitive advantage. Point two: in the evolving pattern of energy transformation, maximizing the domestic interest is the target of national energy policy making; the interaction in-between China, the US and Russia in the energy domain drives the evolution of global energy geopolitics, in turn, the world geopolitics catalyzed the evolution of energy industries of the three countries, and affects the evolution of the global energy pattern; powerful politicians and leaders of giant energy enterprises must understand and assume their responsibilities. Point three: the up-soaring overseas M&A implemented by Chinese oil companies shall be regarded as a part of global energy transformation, as it increases world oil industry investment and global oil and gas supply, maintains the balance of international trade and helps to create jobs for resource-exporting countries as well as stimulate their economic development. Along with the progress of Chinese oil companies, the world oil industry will make progress, too.
