A Test for the Assessment of Reaction Time for Narcotic Rehabilitation Patients

Reaction Time Testing has been successfully used in various areas of research and is potentially a good assessment technique for narcotic rehabilitation patients. However, the number of reaction time samples required from each subject for accurate assessment can be a hindrance in using this test. Therefore in this study we proposed to study the effect of sample size on accuracy and the inter-person differences with normal subjects with a reaction time test of our design. Five normal subjects were tested repeatedly. No significant difference among the mean reaction times of the S subjects were found indicating that the test was reliable and the mean of all 5 correlated well with literature values. The test is reliable with normal patients and will be trialed as an assessment tool for use in research with narcotic rehabilitation patients.
