Aerospace transmissions request higher and higher power density to reduce their weight and to increase their power. Therefore the metallic parts need to be thinner and thinner, but to carry higher and higher loads. Due to the small thickness of the planet walls, the planet can be deformed by the forces applied to the gear mesh. The purpose of this paper is to study the influence of the elastic deformations of the planet on the performance of a wave bearing supporting an elastic planet gear.
