Online collaborative learning has proved its effectiveness throughout the years, mainly because of its flexibility exhibited at different levels: pedagogical design, learning scenario, learning content, online tutoring. Based on the online collaborative learning perspective, we have carried out a study analyzing 25 students' opinions in context of a distance learning French language course. The main purpose was to identify and assess the opportunities and challenges presented by collaborative work and to try to understand the processes that guide the effective collaborative learning.
