摘要

Protegrin-1 (PG-1) is an 18-amino acid peptide with an amidated C-terminus, which forms an antiparallel β-sheet, constrained by two disulfide bridges. The native sequence of PG-1 is highly cationic, containing six positively charged arginine residues. It was found that the structural features such as amphiphilicity, charge and shape are important for the cytolitic activity of PG-1.
