Iron-containing Nucleosides with Apoptosis-inducing Properties: Synthesis of Labeled Derivatives(Abstracts)

摘要

Emerging from studies on the use of butadiene tricarbonyl iron complexes as building blocks for the synthesis of new nucleoside analogs, we discovered that certain compounds of type 1, still bearing a Fe(CO)3 fragment exhibit significant apoptosis inducing properties against BJAB tumor cells(LD_(90) < 20 μM) . To our delight these compounds turned out to be highly active even against multi resistant cell lines, including Caspase 3 and CD95 inactive cells. Therefore we suspect a new mechanism of action, perhaps even a new molecular target. In order to further investigate the biological details, we aimed for the synthesis of iron containing nucleosides attached to molecular labels, like fluoresceine or biotine.
