Knowledge Ecology and Knowledge Ecosystems for Colleges and Universities

摘要

The shift from information to knowledge is at the core of knowledge management. Now, knowledge ecology goes beyond the knowledge management. Knowledge ecology provides a conceptual framework to study the relationships, tools and methods for simultaneously creating, integrating, sharing, and using knowledge. The knowledge ecosystem lies in the core of the knowledge ecology to be a unique choice for colleges and universities. This paper proposes knowledge ecology framework for colleges and universities, and discusses how to establish knowledge ecosystems within them. Future research areas for developing and implementing knowledge ecologies and ecosystems are discussed.
