摘要

Measuring accurate collision cross sections (CCS) is of great interest to the ion mobility-mass spectrometry (IMMS) community. The advent of commercial uniform field instrumentation has allowed accurate CCS measurements to be accessed by several researchers, however an in-depth study of the instrument settings affect on CCS has not been undertaken. The potential of CCS values to serve as an additional feature for identification in broad scale omics studies relies on the ability to reproduce accurate CCS measurements. Accurate CCS measurements are critical for aligning experimental data with theoretical CCS calculations. A thorough understanding of how various IM-MS experimental parameters affect the accuracy of quantitative measurements will enhance the utility of CCS measurements in the areas of omics separations and structural biology.
