摘要

A new LC-MS/MS method with ~(12)C/~(13)C-labeled chemical derivatization has been developed for quantifying malondialdehyde in human and mouse plasma. The LC-MS/MS method demonstrates performance qualities superior to previously-used methods, while shorter analysis time enables high throughput for large-scale applications. The assay's wide linear range makes it suitable for side-by-side quantitation of both free and total MDA. The method was readily adapted for use with low sample volumes. Results from proof-of-principle studies confirm the assay's utility in human and mouse plasma.
