摘要

Today, over 42,000 PrESTs exist within the Human Protein Atlas resource, covering 96% of all human protein coding genes. Additionally, 35,000 of these have at least one corresponding polyclonal antibody available, which eliminates the long time needed for antibody generation normally associated with assay development against novel targets for anti-peptide antibodies. In summary, we show that small amounts of antibodies generated against protein fragments can be used for efficient multiplex analysis of quantitative levels of proteins, thus opening up the possibility build up a proteome-wide resource for immuno-MS based on already existing antibodies.
