MSALAD: A computational platform combining LC, MS and lectin data from glycan arrays

Glycan arrays are useful tools to screen for molecules and organisms that interact with carbohydrates; however, the glycans available on the surface of an array may not reflect the full in vivo repertoire. Many arrays are populated by man-made glycans which are limited both by chemistry and our current knowledge of glycan diversity. A second option is to use native glycans, but they must first be separated and characterized before use in array platforms. To aid in this endeavor, we have developed a program that automatically assigns MS data, aligns MS data with UV data and lectin binding data, calculates the concentration of glycans in each fraction, and displays it all in an easy-to-read format.
