A de novo sequencing workflow: (1) High-resolution MS/MS data acquisition by LTQ-Orbitrap MS instrument. (2) Data analysis by Vonode and Sequest. Advantages of the Vonode algorithm for de novo sequencing: (1) High sensitivity: 11422 sequence tags were identified from a 24-hr shotgun proteomics measurement. (2) Moderate accuracy: 84percent of identified sequence tags were confirmed by Sequest.
