Looking back on several years as a chapter member, chapter officer, and father, the author has recognized extraordinary growth in fellow members after an STC chapter presented them with opportunity and encouragement. It would be thought-provoking enough if this phenomenon occurred once or twice, but the five examples that follow are representative of many others! In each case, STC community participation led to expanded opportunities for professional confidence and recognition. Take the opportunity to view your own community as an enabler and notice how active members gain from their involvement.
