Features of Thermal Stability of TATB Monocrystals

Methods of thermal differential (DTA) and thermo gravimetric (TGA) analyses were used to investigate behavior of explosives (HE) during heating. Previous work has shown some features on DTA curve of several explosives. First, 1,1-diamino-2,2-dinitroethylene (FOX-7) was confirmed to have two exothermal peaks on DTA curve. Second, the fine structure of exothermic signals was observed on the DTA curve for 1,3,5-triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene (TATB) and for benzene trifuroxane (BTF) at slow heating. Nature of the fine structure of the exothermal peak on the DTA curve for TATB was studied in this work.
