The Prometheus Institute for Sustainable Development strives to provide high quality, comprehensive, publicly available, global information and data on the solar energy industry and end-use applications To accomplish this goal, the Institute has undertaken several primary data collection and analysis projects.This paper describes our efforts in the areas of PV supply chain and market data collection and analysis, The purpose of this paper is two-fold. First, in line with our organization's mandate to provide free, publicly available information to PV industry participants and watchers, we present a sample of results from our 2005 PV market and supply chain database projects. Second, we would like to solicit comments from our target audience on our methodology, so that we may incorporate those concerns and needs into further refinements of our process.
