摘要

There is an increasingly need of introducing service robots into diverse real life applications. There are companies that have used them for professional indoor and outdoor inspection and exploration tasks. Service robots are autonomous actuated machines designed to perform useful tasks for humans or equipment excluding industrial automation applications, according to the definition in the ISO-8373 standard. Such robots require of a complex software to integrate their heterogeneous components. To do so, in recent years there is a tendency in the use of robotics middleware for developing such software. Examples of robotics middleware platforms are Robotics Technology Middleware (RTM),Robot Operating System (ROS) [2] and the Universal Robotic Body Interface (URBI).
