Additive Influence on the Metastable Zone Width of Solvates

The metastable zone is the field in which crystallization processes are taking place. Up to now it is, however, impossible to predict the effect of additives on the width of the metastable zone. In this work an approach will be presented for the calculation of the additive concentration, which has the highest influence on an increase of the width of the metastable zone. Furthermore, an approach is presented which describes the way by which additives could be chosen to increase the metastable zone width to a maximum.
