Some challenging results have been obtained either numerically or experimentally on the detection of voids in tendon duct with the impact echo method. The present state of the art advocates for fine B or C scans with a special attention drawn on the thickness frequency shift above a void. In this context, and in order to verify and to extend previous numerical parametric studies and limited experimental works, we have built a wall that authorizes experimental parametric studies of the sensitivity of the impact echo method to void in tendon ducts. The walls have 4 thicknesses and include 2 kinds of duct of 3 diameters. The cement filling is varying from 0 to 100% (in four stages) with a void surface orientation with regard to the surface of the wall either parallel or perpendicular. Finally the depth of the tendon is varying leading to more than 100 different configurations. In this paper we present an overview of the B-scan measured and compare the experimental results to numerical finite element computations.
