ZnO/activated semi-coke (ASC) desulfurizer was synthesized using solvothermal method. The obtained samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and N2 adsorption. The performance of ZnO/activated semi-coke's desulphurisation capability were investigated in a fixed-bed reactor. The results showed that the loaded substance on activated semi-coke is pure ZnO with flower-like nanostructures, and the optimum condition for preparing ZnO/semi-coke are as follows: the ratio of loading (mass ratio of ZnO to activated semi-coke) is 1:25, the hydrothermal reaction time is 12h, and the solvothermal temperature is 150°C. At this time, desulphurisation performance is the best. The pore structure of the as-synthesized desulfurizer changes slightly before and after desulphurisation, indicating that the pore structure of the carrier activated semi-coke in is not damaged, which is beneficial to the regeneration of desulfurizer.
