In this article, a new method of chaotic systems synchronization based on back-stepping with modular design is presented and applied to secure communications. Moreover this method is adaptive, which means, both master and slave systems are considered with unknown parameters. In order to present this method we have used two Rossler [16] chaotic systems as master and slave. The application of the proposed approach to secure communications is illustrated and simulation results are presented to show asymptotic synchronization.
