The present study describes a support decision aid methodology for choosing the best mining method. The industrial purpose of the mineral to be exploited can be decisive in choosing the mining process. Certain criteria should be considered when choosing the method to be used: the degree of risk of accidents to which the method exposes the worker, the costs of materials used in a given method, the human potential, the quality of the final product, and also, the environmental factors. Multicriteria decision aid aims to give decision-makers tools in order to enable them to make progress in finding a solution for a problem where several - often contradictory - points of view must be taken into account. The first fact which should be noted when dealing with this type of problem is that, in general, there is no one decision which is the best one, simultaneously from all points of view. In this context, this article seeks to present a more structured process for choosing the most appropriate method for exploiting ornamental rocks according to the criteria considered criteria and of the preference structures of those involved in the decision-making process.
