Calorimetric study is used to identify kinetic parameters of a non-steady polymerization kinetic model. Free radical polymerization in solution of DoDecyl MethAcrylate (DDMA) and Methyl MethAcrylate (MMA) was initiated by a bi-functional peroxide l-di(tert-ButylPeroxy)CycloHexane (BPCH). To improve parameter estimation, decomposition step was separately studied in DSC. Kinetic parameters linked to this step were determined with independent experiments. The kinetic parameters show that DDMA polymerization is more reactive than MMA polymerization. Propagation rate constant is 1.7 times higher for DDMA.
