TARGETING APOLIPOPROTEIN E FRAGMENTS IN AMYLOID DEPOSIT; A STUDY ON A MOUSE MODEL

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVESApolipoprotein E (apoE), as degraded fragments, is co-localized in amyloid deposits regardless of types. The in vivo targeting of the apoE, either diagnostic or therapeutic, has long been kept in mind. Recent establishment of human apoE knock-in mouse enabled experiments of utilization this approach. This study examined whether a monoclonal antibody specific to human apoE fragments is bound to and is accumulated in AA amyloid deposits in vivo in human apolipoprotein E knock-in mouse with AA-amyloidosis.
